About Us

Our Indian Guides / Indian Princess program is administered by the Longhouse of the Orange Skies, Non-profit (founded in 2013). We are not affiliated with the YMCA. The Longhouse is a non-profit organization run and operated on a 100% volunteer basis with the exception of professional services required for legal and financial reporting to support the Indian Guides / Indian Princess program and our Trailblazers program for older children. The Longhouse Council oversees a 1,400 member organization comprised of dads and their sons/daughters in 10 Nations, comprised of over 30 different tribes in the Guides/Princess program. Our mission is to strengthen the communication between fathers and their children by providing a framework for enjoyable, constructive, and quality time together, in a way that is respectful to Native American culture.

Our program serves families in Orange County, California with our three programs: Indian Guides (Father/Son), Indian Princesses (Father/Daughter), and Trailblazers (Guides/Princesses graduates); We nurture strong relationships and memories between fathers and their children using Native American themes and values. The Indian Guides / Indian Princess program also provides fathers and their children with the opportunity to give back to the community through community service projects.

Recent service projects include fundraising for Toys for Tots Native American Program, Moustaches for Kids, Miracles for Kids, RettSyndrome.org, CHOC Children’s, Ronald McDonald House, Mary’s Kitchen, and Tustin Area Senior Center Santa Project.
